MSU visitor punches Wilson Hall window

March 2, 2009

An 18-year-old Allen Park man who was visiting his 19-year-old girlfriend at MSU shattered a West Wilson Hall stairwell window at about 1 a.m. on Feb. 22, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.

The suspect, who has no university affiliation, had left his girlfriend’s Wilson Hall dorm room at about 1 a.m. When he returned, his hand was bleeding and he told his girlfriend he had punched glass during a fight. His girlfriend then called police for medical attention, McGlothian-Taylor said.

After police established that the suspect had broken the stairwell window, he was cited for malicious destruction of property and for being a minor in possession of alcohol before being turned over to an East Lansing Fire Department ambulance. The suspect admitted to officers that he was the one who broke the window, McGlothian-Taylor said.
