Car window smashed, purse with cash stolen

A 22-year-old female student reported her purse stolen from her vehicle, along with $40, while she was at work Tuesday at the University Club, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.

The student was running late and parked her car at about 6 a.m., placing her purse beneath a pile of clothes on the front passenger side seat before she left the car.

When she returned five hours later, the front passenger window of her 1995 Pontiac Grand Am was smashed and the purse was gone, along with the cash, her Visa credit card and debit card. The student then called MSU police, McGlothian-Taylor said.

There are currently no suspects and the incident is under investigation, McGlothian-Taylor said.
