An 18-year-old student was sexually assaulted Wednesday evening in her East Holden Hall dorm room by a man who was soliciting donations for a church, MSU police said.
The victim opened the door to give a donation to the suspect when the man grabbed her. The student then pushed the suspect away and told the man to leave the room. The victim called police, who then began searching the area, MSU police Deputy Chief David Trexler said in an e-mail.
The reported assault happened at about 5:55 p.m. Police have learned the suspect also was soliciting donations in Wilson Hall and Holden Hall. The suspect is described as a black male, age 35 to 40, 5-foot-10 to 6 feet tall, with a stocky build. He was wearing a tan coat with a fur collar, blue jeans and was carrying a black jacket, Trexler said.
