Lansing Old Navy to close doors

January 11, 2009

The Old Navy apparel store in the Lansing Mall, 5330 W. Saginaw Highway, will close Jan. 26 after opting not to renew its lease this year, a store associate said.

Old Navy is a nationwide apparel chain owned by Gap, Inc.

The chain has locations across the U.S., including many in Michigan.

Another Old Navy store in the Meridian Mall, 1982 W. Grand River Ave., in Okemos, has no plans to close, a store associate said.

Lansing Mall manager Michael Cook did not know the reasons for Old Navy’s withdrawal, but said there are potential opportunities for the 15,000 square-foot space that the store currently occupies.
