The MSU Board of Trustees on Tuesday voted unanimously to reappoint Joel Ferguson as chairperson and Melanie Foster as vice-chairperson for the next two years.
Board members said the pairing had been a successful one during the last two years. Ferguson also served as chairperson in the early 1990s.
Foster said she looked forward to continue working with Ferguson.
“Over the past two years, Trustee Ferguson and I have worked very collaboratively for the good of the university and I look forward to continuing that relationship,” she said.
Ferguson said he was proud to be approved unanimously and looked forward to continuing as chairperson.
“I’m going to work hard to keep up the momentum we’ve gained under President Lou Anna K. Simon,” Ferguson said. “I feel honored.”
Trustee Faylene Owen nominated both candidates, with Trustee Colleen McNamara seconding both motions. No other board business was discussed at Tuesday’s meeting.
