Student groups have access to more than $200,000 in taxes

Council of Racial and Ethnic Students and Council of Progressive Students groups have access to student tax dollars.

ASMSU gives 20 percent of its budget annually to recognized groups such as Black Student Alliance, Culturas de las Razas Unidas, Women’s Council, LBGT (Lesbian, Bisexual, Gay, Transgender) and many other groups considered to be racially, ethnically or progressively based.

That amount equates to more than $200,000 per year for such groups. This money is distributed through Programming Board. This board consists of 13 groups as well as at-large members from the MSU community. ASMSU is proud to sponsor and provide support for these events every year including the Black Power Rally and the Pow Wow hosted by the North American Indigenous Students Organization.
