McCain concedes, Obama takes presidency

November 4, 2008

Following Senator John McCain’s speech, it was concluded that the Republican presidential nominee officially conceded to newly elected Barack Obama for President of the United States.

Although boos and jeers boomed throughout the Arizona Biltmore Hotel in Phoenix, McCain with his wife, Cindy, and running-mate Sarah Palin, urged the nation to put aside partisan differences — focusing on bettering the nation as a whole.

McCain wasn’t oblivious to the one-sided results putting Obama ahead 338-129 in the electoral votes, but urges the country to stay united.

Obama took the stage at about midnight Tuesday for his acceptance speech.
