Obama infomercial provides another look at candidate

In reaction to Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama’s infomercial last Wednesday, I am compelled to point out that there was a positive change, being that there seemed to be no attacks or mention of the Republican Party or John McCain. In most campaigns, it seems the most common issues discussed are those the politician has with the other. To hear a candidate’s concerns and priorities without being followed almost immediately with a negative comparison to their competition has been extremely scarce since I have started following politics.

It is to my disappointment that this has come so late in the election process and even more disappointing that it is unlikely that McCain could pull off this same type of respectful and informational feat before Tuesday. Although I have most identified with Obama’s platform, I feel McCain has not provided me or anyone else with a proper presentation of who and what he is exactly fighting for without having to search for it. I am left without being able to make a fair and honest comparison.

If you are like me, you could care less about how a candidate may possess philosophies with hints of those of Karl Marx or the cost of outfitting another candidate. I can draw my own conclusions, but first I need a little “straight talk” from the candidates.
