Considering the fraud that has perpetrated as MSU football in the last 40 years, last Saturday’s honoring of the 1978 Big Ten champion football team was pathetic.
A brief sojourn to the end zone during a timeout and an announcement was all they got.
Mediocrity and incompetence has ruled the football program for decades. The 1978 team set Big Ten offensive records that stood for 24 years, dominated like few state teams ever have and beat Michigan after a nine-year drought. That team might be the best MSU team from the last 40 years.
A halftime ceremony and photos or video of the team on the big screen would have been appropriate.
Nice job, MSU.
