A couch was ignited on the corner of Short and Gunson streets at about 1 a.m. Sunday.
East Lansing police and students present at the scene believed the burning couch was caused by MSU’s 38-31 loss to California during Saturday night’s football game. As the first couch-burning incident of the weekend, police don’t believe the event is a sign of things to come.
The blazing couch was put out by firefighters at about 1:18 a.m.
