Take a peek behind the curtain and test drive the NEW StateNews.com today!

Freshman fifteen Q's

Kupchick

College is a whole new world for many freshmen traveling campus for the first time. The State News sat down with one of these brave explorers to get a glimpse, in 15 questions or less, at a new face on campus and his perspective on his new frontier.

Meet Tyler Kupchick

1. How do you cure the hiccups? Normally, I hold my breath until they’re gone.

2. How do you prefer your sandwich to be cut? Diagonally. It’s more fun eating the corners.

3. If you won the lottery, who would be the first person you would call? My dad because we’re close.

4. If you could be any superhero, which would you be? Why? Superman, because he can do anything. Run, fly and see through anything.

5. What’s your most missed elementary school memory? Probably recess, just because it’s organized in elementary school, and now you gotta do it by yourself.

6. What’s the best part about being an American? Freedom, because you can do pretty much whatever you want.

7. What’s your major? Why? Premedical but technically human biology. I want to be a surgeon because I love the human body. I think it’s fascinating.

8. Where are you from? Hudsonville, Mich.

9. How was your first week of classes? It went well. The first day was confusing but now I’m pretty much getting the hang of it.

10. What did you do for Labor Day? I played beach volleyball.

11. What’s the strangest dream you’ve had? I went through a McDonald’s drive-thru with a life-size Barbie.

12. How do you feel about laptops in class? I like them. I’ve only used it in two classes, but it’s easier and convenient.

13. Do you prefer Easy Mac or Ramen noodles? Ramen noodles because I’ve had six of them already.

14. What’s the worst commercial jingle to get stuck in your head? I can’t think of any but probably the ‘Can you hear me now? Good.’

15. Do you like to put your own butter on popcorn or have the employees do it? I used to work at a movie theater, but I would prefer an employee because they can do it halfway, then fill it, then put more on the top.
