Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land announced Wednesday 1.36 million, or 19 percent of Michigan’s 7.2 million registered voters, participated in Tuesday’s primary election, according to a press release.

The deadline to register to vote before the Nov. 4 general election is Oct. 6, which is 30 days before the election, said Kelly Chesney, spokeswoman for the Department of State.
