Two dairy judging teams from MSU were honored for placing in the College Division category at the Hoard’s Dairyman Cow Judging contest.
The teams placed second and third of 73 total teams that participated in the competition.
The competition included more than 23,980 participants from 50 states and nine foreign countries.
The honored teams received commemorative plaques and $75 cash for second place and $50 cash for third place.
“It was gratifying to see the teams perform so well against such strong competition,” Joe Domecq, an animal science instructor, said in a press release. “This contest is an excellent learning tool for students to test their knowledge about dairy cattle evaluation and allows them an opportunity to compete against students from other universities.”
