Neitzel will participate in 3-point contest

April 1, 2008

Though his time leading the MSU men’s basketball team has come to an end, Drew Neitzel isn’t finished representing the Green and White.

The senior point guard will participate in festivities at the Final Four this weekend in San Antonio as a contestant in the 3-point contest at 9 p.m. Thursday on ESPN. He will compete against Chris Lofton (Tennessee), A.J. Graves (Butler), Shan Foster (Vanderbilt), Derrick Low (Washington State), Jamar Butler (Ohio State), Brian Roberts (Dayton) and Jaycee Carroll (Utah State), the Detroit Free Press reported.

Neitzel, while averaging 13.9 points per game for the Spartans, shot 39 percent from behind the 3-point line. He finished his career third on the all-time MSU list for 3-point attempts and third for shots made from beyond the arc.
