After an up-and-down senior season, MSU guard Drew Neitzel was recognized by his efforts by the Big Ten coaches and was named to the first-team All-Big Ten team.
Neitzel, who averages 13.4 points and 4.2 assists per game, ranks third in the nation with a 3.07-1 assist-turnover ratio. The honor comes shortly after he was named a second-team Academic All-American. He also was MSU’s Big Ten sportsmanship honoree.
A four-year starter, Neitzel currently ranks 15th in MSU career scoring (1,448) and fourth in career assists (565). His .859 free-throw shooting percentage is good for second all-time.
Sophomore forward Raymar Morgan, freshman guard Kalin Lucas and junior co-captain Travis Walton also received honors. Morgan, MSU’s leading scorer, was a consensus second-team member while Lucas was named to the honorable mention list. Walton was named to the All-Defensive team for the second-consecutive season.
