MSU lands verbal from E.L.'s Blake Treadwell

March 18, 2008

Like father, like son.

The MSU football team received another verbal commitment for the 2009 recruiting class Sunday, landing East Lansing High School junior Blake Treadwell, according to Scout.com.

Treadwell is the son of current MSU offensive coordinator Don Treadwell, who followed head coach Mark Dantonio from Cincinnati last year.

The younger Treadwell, who is 6-foot-3, 273 pounds, started on both the offensive and defensive line for the Trojans last year. He was named Division 3-4 all-state special mention.

Offensively, he was the left tackle on a line that paved the way for a rushing attack that averaged 341 yards a game.

The Treadwell verbal makes six total early commits for the Spartans.

Despite the verbal commitment, players still have the possibility of taking it back. Players cannot officially sign a National Letter of Intent to play with schools until February 2009.
