Bone marrow donors sought

March 11, 2008

The MSU chapter of the Student National Medical Association will host a bone marrow drive from noon to 5 p.m. today at E202 Fee Hall.

The drive will focus on getting students to join the National Marrow Donor Registry.

Although processing fees typically are $54, students will be able to join the registry free of charge.

After joining the registry, students will have their mouths swabbed and tests will be run to determine if their marrow is needed.

About one out of 200 people seeking bone marrow find a suitable donor.
