Student reports fraud after buying stolen pass
A 21-year-old female student reported that a suspect sold her a stolen bus pass at about 2:20 p.m. Jan. 8 at the Capital Area Transportation Authority station, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.
The student said she was standing in line to purchase a bus pass when the suspect approached her and told her he could sell her a bus pass for $30, McGlothian-Taylor said. After purchasing the card, the student attempted to use the bus pass and the bus driver rejected and confiscated the card, telling her that it was a stolen pass, McGlothian-Taylor said.
The student described the suspect as a 5-foot-5-inch man with a thin build and short brown hair. Police are investigating the incident.
