A catalytic converter, estimated to be worth $415, was cut off and stolen from a vehicle in the parking lot of East Lansing’s Amtrak station last week, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. The 19-year-old victim, who has no university affiliation, reported that a suspect stole the converter from her vehicle between 8:30 p.m. Jan. 7 and 7:45 a.m. Wednesday, McGlothian-Taylor said. MSU police have no suspects and are investigating the theft, McGlothian-Taylor said.
