Nation needs to be smart in choosing its next leader

No matter which side of the aisle you are on, there are few Americans who feel the best leaders are the ones who are secretive, inaccessible and who waver on the issues. As we all know, the past seven years have been filled with the conniving secrecy and manipulative double-talk we used to find reserved only for Stalinist regimes.

With this next presidential election, America will have the chance to select a new leader. We must decide if this leader will be one of seclusion or one who will stand behind the decisions of his or her past. We must decide if we will elect a leader who is clear about how they stand on the defining issues of our day, or one who employs systematic double-speak, somehow believing he or she can be on both sides of an issue.

Sadly, Hillary Clinton proves herself a leader who is both enigmatic and fickle. She makes claims to support both sides on such issues as Iraq, Social Security and immigration. Furthermore, she hides behind red tape, using the slow speed of government as an excuse as to why her records in the National Archives will be kept locked up until after 2012, after any attempts she will make at the presidency. Decide what kind of leader you want for the next four years; more secrets and double-talk, or the honest, open leadership that will bring America into the 21st century.
