East Lansing went unscathed as of press time Thursday evening after tornado sirens filtered through the area. William Marino, a meteorologist for the Grand Rapids National Weather Service, said no tornadoes or hail hit East Lansing as of 10 p.m. East Lansing police and fire were dispatched to assist with a rolled over semi-truck believed to be tipped over by heavy winds. Marino said a second string of storms was expected to hit the area at 11:30 p.m., bringing with it severe gusts and possible hail.
