When I first saw the design that would be on the student football T-shirts, I hated it. It didn’t seem clever, look good or stand out. The first week of school came, and I saw a lot of people wearing those ugly shirts.
I went to the football game on Saturday. I watched as my peers found their seats, cheered the team and sang with the band. As I came home that night, I realized the shirts I thought were a bad idea were actually brilliant.
Students were more respectful, football players were more focused and even the band sounded better in this new atmosphere. Judging from Saturday’s show, I think this is more than just a new era in football. I think this is a new era in MSU pride, and I’m glad to be a part of it.
