Vending machines are the new hot target for thieves and vandals on campus. About $1,400 in damage was committed to a Pepsi vending machine in the Bailey Hall loading area between midnight and 11:30 a.m. Monday, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. The Pepsi machine and a snack machine by the dock area were broken into and $65 was taken. The incident was reported by an MSU employee, McGlothian-Taylor said. Damage also was sustained by a separate Pepsi vending machine at the Kellogg Center between 3 a.m. Monday and 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, McGlothian-Taylor said. About $400 in damage was committed to the machine and was noticed by a student employee. The incidents are still under investigation, McGlothian-Taylor said.Ashley A. Smith
