MSU police recovered a stolen parking permit Tuesday after it had been reported missing, said MSU police Sgt. Randy Holton.A parking enforcement officer discovered the stolen permit being used by a 21-year-old male student in Ramp 1, also known as Shaw Ramp. The student told police he purchased the $360 permit online, Holton said.The permit was confiscated, and the student is being charged for misuse of university property. Police have been unable to contact the original owner of the permit. The case is still under investigation and is being forwarded to the Ingham County Prosecutor's Office, Holton said.A 41-year-old employee of a business in the Union was reported by her employer to have embezzled approximately $3,300 from the business, Holton said.The employer learned the woman had been taking funds from the company after she told him. The employee has not been arrested and the incident is still under investigation, Holton said.Ashley A. Smith
