Sometimes, good fashion can be tasty - without taking a bite out of your wallet.
Sarah Jessica Parker's clothing line, "BITTEN," looks to do just that.
On sale at Steve and Barry's, the line's name was given after Parker first walked into the store and claimed to be "bitten by the Steve and Barry's bug." With striped tanks and cotton shirt dresses, Parker's project is flirtatious and fun.
Parker's style was idolized as she starred in HBO's "Sex and The City" as the fashion-savvy columnist Carrie Bradshaw. Although "BITTEN" doesn't feature look-alikes of any of Carrie's daring outfits, it does aim toward the "real" woman. With sizes from XS to XXL in tops and 0-22 in bottoms, Parker's pieces are comfortable as well as wearable.
The best part is the clothing is so inexpensive. Parker's manifesto reads, "It is every woman's inalienable right to have a pulled-together, stylish, confident wardrobe with money left over to live."In keeping with Steve and Barry's standard pricing, all items in the line are $19.98 or less. The "Fashion Is Not A Luxury" T-shirt our model wears sells for $7.98 and is available in charcoal (shown) and white.
The most notable piece in the line is a double V-neck tank dress, $19.98, available in brown and shale. Paired with a "BITTEN" pansy purple, graphic shirttail hem tee, $7.98, the navy dress has the look of an expensive getup for less than $35.
Unfortunately, "BITTEN" is only available at the Steve and Barry's stores located in malls and isn't available to order online. Luckily, our own Meridian Mall, 1982 W. Grand River Ave. in Okemos, has a Steve & Barry's which carries the line.
