Police briefs 06/25/07

A 23-year-old male student is pressing charges against a 24-year-old male student for beating him up while sleeping between 5-6 a.m. June 17 after a night of drinking together, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.The victim and his friends, including the suspect, had gone out together. The victim and his roommates returned home to their Spartan Village apartment and were intoxicated, McGlothian-Taylor said.The suspect had tried to contact the victim because he assumed the victim had damaged his car. When the victim wouldn't answer, he went to the apartment and assaulted the victim in his sleep, McGlothian-Taylor said.The victim did not have any recollection of the past night's events until the suspect had called him the next day to apologize for what had happened.The victim sustained several injuries. The case is still under investigation, McGlothian-Taylor said.Ashley A. Smith
