Use of cell phones is harming bee population

I am writing in response to "Bee loss affects Mich. crops" (SN 5/17), by Kristi Jourdan.

As I am also an avid reader of many major newspapers, magazines, and scientific journals, it reminded me that very recently in Britain the mass deaths of bees had been widely reported. Beekeepers are finding their hives empty.

A compelling theory, with scientific evidence to back it, is that this is caused by radio signal emissions from the ubiquitous mobile phone masts, which disorient bees' radar, depleting their energy and encouraging their virus susceptibility.
