This week Shabazz Public School Academy celebrates Malcolm X Week. Most events take place at the school, 1028 Barnes Ave. in Lansing.

At 9:30 a.m. today, the MSU Jazz Ensemble will perform. At 1:30 p.m., The Bellamy Performers will perform historical episodes on Frederick Douglas and Harriet Tubman.

From 9 a.m. to noon Friday, dance instructor Sterling Armstrong will lead "Everybody Dance." From 1-3 p.m. the Prince and Princess Pageant will take place at the Black Child and Family Institute, 835 W. Genesee St., in Lansing.
