A woman was shot at by an aerosol pellet gun while walking to the Spartan Village laundry building sometime between 5:30-6 p.m. May 7-19, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. The police report was filed on May 19.The woman did not know the suspect, but described him as being between 20- to 30-years-old with short, wavy hair and driving a black SUV, McGlothian-Taylor said.Officers checked the area for the suspect and the vehicle and were unable to locate either, however, the incident is still under investigation, McGlothian-Taylor said. After receiving a phone call from MSU Federal Credit Union regarding his overdrawn account, a 21-year-old MSU student realized a $900 check had been forged in his name, McGlothian-Taylor said. The student said he had written a $110 check for the suspect after loaning money from him in February. When the suspect attempted to cash the check, he couldn't because it wasn't signed properly, so the student paid the suspect in cash, McGlothian-Taylor said. When the student was notified May 15 about the withdrawal, he notified the credit union and realized the check cashed had been the original one written for $110. The incident is still under investigation, McGlothian-Taylor said.Ashley A. Smith
