Police briefs 05/18/07

A $1,200 moped was stolen from a North Case Hall bike rack between 6:30 p.m. May 14 and 5:30 p.m. May 15, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.The 2005 red Qian moped was locked to the bike rack with a cable lock. The $20 lock also was stolen with the moped, McGlothian-Taylor said.Two students were arrested for stealing bikes in the Brody Complex area May 15, McGlothian-Taylor said.The male students, a 20-year-old and 21-year-old, were witnessed stealing a Huffy Snack Rock bike and a $200 Road Master bike with bolt cutters, McGlothian-Taylor said. Officers identified the individuals and both were arrested and released. The case was forwarded to the Ingham County Prosecutor's Office and warrants are being processed, McGlothian-Taylor said.Ashley A. Smith
