A spree of car break-ins occurred April 5 and 6 between 11:30 p.m. and 7 a.m. in Lot 89, near the Pavilion for Agriculture and Livestock Education. Five vehicles were damaged, with costs totaling $1,050, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.The passenger's side window of a 1993 Toyota Corolla was smashed, and a $200 Pioneer stereo was damaged. Damage also was sustained to a 2003 Honda Accord when the person attempted to steal the stereo.Two $250 stereos also were stolen from a 1993 Pontiac Bonneville and a 1998 Acura Integra coupe. A smashed side window in a 1997 Honda Accord also was reported, McGlothian-Taylor said.Police are investigating the situation.The front and rear windows of a 2001 Chevrolet truck parked in Lot 100 off Service Road was broken into between 3:45-4:45 p.m. Friday, McGlothian-Taylor said.A 34-year-old woman not affiliated with the university reported $60 and a $200 Prada purse missing at the time. The woman went into the MSU Pavilion for Agriculture and Livestock Education for about an hour before returning to her car, McGlothian-Taylor said.The driver's side window was broken, and about $1,460 in items were stolen, including a video camera and cell phone, McGlothian-Taylor said.About $240 of clothing was reported stolen between 8-11 p.m. April 5 from the South Hubbard Hall laundry room, McGlothian-Taylor said.The clothing was discovered missing after a 21-year-old male student left them in the dryer.When he returned, he found his green Sean John sweatshirt, black Pelle Pelle sweatshirt and four T-shirts missing, McGlothian-Taylor said.Ashley A.
