Customers at an Okemos Rite Aid got more than their prescriptions filled Tuesday evening.A man in his 40s wearing a yellow shirt and jeans entered the store, 1589 Haslett Road, and began to verbally assault employees sometime after 8 p.m., said Sgt. Don Lound, of the Meridian Township Police Department, which responded to the incident.The suspect was subdued by a customer when he became physically violent, Lound said.Chet Thorne, who was in the store at the time of the incident, said he fought the man and made him wait until police arrived."I was back in the pharmacy and heard a commotion coming from the front," the 52-year-old Haslett resident said. "I tried to get him away from the employees."The man appeared to be intoxicated or under the influence of another substance, Thorne said.After police arrived, the man was arrested and taken to a local hospital for observation, Lound said.Kris Turner
