On Sunday, sophomore forward Aisha Jefferson returned to the starting lineup and recorded eight points and five assists in MSU's 63-57 loss to Rutgers. Later in the week, The State News caught up with Jefferson and asked her about food, dancing and music.
The State News: What's the deal with the dance the team does before each game?
Aisha Jefferson: It's a tradition. Teams before have done it, and it's something to get us relaxed.
What is the coolest arena you've played in?
Probably UNC's arena (the Smith Center) back in AAU. I played on North Carolina's men's court for an AAU tournament. It was really big, and seeing all the banners like Michael Jordan and Rasheed Wallace and all those greats that came through there.
What does the team do the night before a road game?
We sleep, we eat and stay in the room and bond with teammates and read our scouting reports.
What is your favorite late-night snack?
I'm not supposed to be having late-night snacks.
Then what's your favorite snack?
Probably chocolate. I love chocolate, any type of chocolate.
What was the last song you listened to?
"You're So Vain" by Carly Simon.
