Peter Secchia, an ardent MSU supporter who served as an honorary pallbearer at President Gerald R. Ford's funeral, was injured Sunday leaving an MSU basketball game at Breslin Center, The Associated Press reported Monday. Secchia, a former United States ambassador to Italy, along with his wife and another couple, were transported to Lansing's Sparrow Hospital after a vehicle rear-ended them on Interstate 69. Secchia suffered minor injuries from his seat belt, but his wife suffered a collapsed lung, some bleeding in her head, broken ribs and a broken right hand. She's expected to make a full recovery.A 51-year-old male university employee reported a $300 19-inch black Gateway computer monitor stolen from the west side of the Main Library's third floor between 8 p.m. on Friday and 5 a.m. on Saturday, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. There are no suspects and the incident is under investigation.A 27-year-old female student reported her $800 Dell laptop stolen from her office in the Packaging Building between 1:45-2 p.m. Monday, McGlothian-Taylor said. The student said she left her desk for 15 minutes and noticed a suspicious man wearing all black clothing roaming the hallway outside her office, where four other desks are also located. When she returned, the laptop was gone. She said she saw the man riding away on a bicycle westbound on Wilson Road, but didn't see her laptop.Laura Misjak
