A 29-year-old man was stabbed Friday at a home on Lake Lansing Road, said Meridian Township police Sgt. Gregory Frenger. Police responded to the incident at 3:44 p.m. and arrested a 19-year-old man in connection with the stabbing. The victim was taken to the hospital, and the incident remains under investigation.An 18-year-old man was robbed between 2:05 a.m. and 2:10 a.m. Saturday in Lot 62, near Spartan Stadium, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. An officer responding to another incident in the lot witnessed the man, a Detroit resident who is not a student, fall in the grassy area between the east and west sections of the lot. The officer witnessed several men run up to the area from the IM-Sports West building, where a dance was being held. The men then ran off after the victim fell, McGlothian-Taylor said. The victim, who was unconscious and had a deep cut and bruising above his right eye and blood coming from his right ear, was transported to Sparrow Hospital. A 24-year-old female from Farmington Hills with no university affiliation witnessed the event and described one of the perpetrators as a 6-foot-tall man of average build wearing jeans and a white jacket with green stripes. A $500 Motorola cell phone and $20 was stolen from the victim.Several people reported items missing from their vehicles between 11 p.m. Friday and 2 a.m. Saturday in Lot 62, near Spartan Stadium, McGlothian-Taylor said. An 18-year-old male from Muskegon with no university affiliation, a 20-year-old female student, a 20-year-old male with no university affiliation, a 21-year-old male student, a 20-year-old female from Ypsilanti with no university affiliation, a 25-year-old female from Ypsilanti with no affiliation and an 18-year-old male from Muskegon with no university affiliation reported that items had been taken from their vehicles. A 1995 Pontiac Sunfire, a 1996 Pontiac Sunfire and a 1994 Chevrolet Caprice each had their windows broken. Two other vehicles were not locked during the incident, McGlothian-Taylor said. Among the items stolen were six pairs of Nike Jordan brand tennis shoes valued at $780, and a $35 purse with keys and a wallet containing $355. There are no suspects.Three students participating in an indoor soccer class at Demonstration Hall had items stolen Thursday during the class, McGlothian-Taylor said.An 18-year-old female reported her $230 Hobo Purse, containing $140, a $200 cell phone, a $150 necklace, a $400 Canon digital camera and various IDs missing. A 19-year-old male reported his $250 iPod and $70 Motorola cell phone stolen. Another 19-year-old male reported his $30 backpack containing guitar strings, a textbook, wallet, $300 iPod and $100 Nokia cell phone gone. All their belongings were lying on the floor outside the rink unattended, while the students were in the rink participating in class, McGlothian-Taylor said.Laura Misjak
