As expected, football head coach Mark Dantonio named Pat Narduzzi as his defensive coordinator Wednesday.
Narduzzi held the same position under Dantonio at Cincinnati from 2003-05. He was named the Bearcats' interim head coach when Dantonio departed, but he left for MSU when former Central Michigan head coach Brian Kelly was named Cincinnati's new head coach.
Dantonio also retained Dan Enos, the only coach who will stay from John L. Smith's staff. Eight of Dantonio's nine assistant coaches followed him from Cincinnati.
Enos was MSU's quarterbacks coach in 2006 after coaching the quarterbacks at Cincinnati under Dantonio in 2004-05. He'll now be MSU's running backs coach.
"I have a great deal of respect for our running backs," Enos said in a statement. "While serving as quarterbacks coach last year, I really got to know these guys so I look forward to assisting in continuing their development."
