An 81-year-old Coldwater man died Oct. 20 at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing after he collapsed at the MSU Pavilion for Agriculture and Livestock Education.A friend of the man said he grabbed the wall and slowly fell to the ground after the pair purchased popcorn, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.They were attending the Michigan Great Lakes International Draft Horse Show and Pull event at the Pavilion, said Jordan Hewitt, a Pavilion secretary.Hewitt said she heard someone suffered a heart attack at the horse show but was told he was OK.McGlothian-Taylor said the man died about 45 minutes after he collapsed.The friend, who is a 78-year-old woman from Coldwater, said the man was diagnosed with leukemia 10 years ago and received treatment but had no previous heart problems, McGlothian-Taylor said.A 21-year-old MSU football player found $1,200 in cash stolen from his locker while he practiced Sunday.The man said he placed the cash in his locker and secured the lock before going to practice, and he discovered the money was missing five and a half hours later, McGlothian-Taylor said.The man said he is unsure if anyone else knows the combination to his locker. The case is still under investigation.Two masked men and another man who filmed them caused $600 in damages Thursday afternoon in the Shaw Hall cafeteria.Between 2:40 p.m. and 2:50 p.m., the men engaged in a staged fight, which caused a dent in the floor, several broken dishes and an overturned table, McGlothian-Taylor said.When cafeteria officials approached the men, they ran out the east entrance and into the street. Two of the suspects, who do not live in Shaw Hall, were located through their ID records by MSU police, McGlothian-Taylor said.One of the suspects, an 18-year-old student, said the fight was a prank and that he intends to pay for the damages.Maggie Lillis
