More than $100 in cash and coins were reported stolen from a Pepsi vending machine Tuesday at the Plant and Soil Sciences Building.A 45-year-old employee noticed the door to the vending machine open at about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, and the only item that appeared to be missing was money, McGlothian-Taylor said.Although the door was ajar, the employee and MSU police said there was no indication of forced entry into the machine. McGlothian-Taylor wasn't sure if there is a device in the machine that would indicate if products were stolen. Representatives from PepsiCo were contacted to survey any damage.A gray Sony camcorder stolen from an office in the Business College Complex on Monday was retrieved hours later, when a man purchased the item for $60 in Lansing and called the number on a business card located in the camera bag.The victim, a 33-year-old MSU employee, left the camera and a wallet with various IDs and credit cards inside unattended between 1:30
