• The Michigan Secretary of State's Office expects about 3.4 million voters to turn out for this year's midterm elections.
• Anyone with a valid voter registration card can ride Capitol Area Transportation Authority buses for free on Election Day (Nov. 7).
• Saturday is the last day to request an absentee ballot from your local city clerk. Requests for ballots must be received by 2 p.m. Saturday late requests will require voters to come in and fill out their ballots in the clerk's office. Completed absentee ballots must be returned to the clerk's office by Nov. 7.
• Politicians have the least trustworthy occupation, according to a poll released Tuesday by the Lansing-based public relations firm, The Rossman Group. Other occupations high on the list were oil company executives and used-car salesmen.
• Campaign ads for many Michigan midterm election candidates, including Republican gubernatorial candidate Dick DeVos and Democratic Gov. Jennifer Granholm, can be seen on YouTube.com.
