Editor's Note: You can find State News reporter Trey Scroggin in St. Louis for this week's three-game World Series stretch in Cardinal-country. To get there, he hitched a ride with three MSU grads and will be your eyes and ears on the ground as the Tigers take their show on the road.
If there's one thing that excites these ballistic St. Louis head cases more than making it to the World Series, it's that Kenny Rogers, in their minds, is a cheat.
Allegations that the Tigers pitcher was caught with pine tar on his throwing hand were made during Game 2 of the World Series. Rogers denied the allegations after the game.
One St. Louis vendor went as far as to sell samples of the sticky substance with a sign that read: "Buy your pine tar here."
