A man who was the aggressor in an aggravated assault incident was then assaulted Saturday near the south side of Spartan Stadium by an unknown witness who fled. The man, 47, who is not affiliated with the university, attempted to purchase a ticket to the MSU vs. Notre Dame football game from another man. When he was told he couldn't purchase it for less than the asking price, the man became agitated, grabbed the ticket and pushed the victim, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.A friend of the 47-year-old then intervened and returned the ticket to the victim, a 24-year-old male from Sterling Heights, Mich. As the victim vacated, the 47-year-old became angry, came up behind the victim and punched him in the left jaw-area. Another unknown man approached the suspect, hit and shoved the man and then ran off. Police do not have a description of the unknown perpetrator.Although the suspect-turned-victim's lower jaw-area was red and visibly swollen, he refused medical treatment, McGlothian-Taylor said. The incidents are still under investigation.Maggie Lillis
