Police briefs 09/19/06

A 26-year-old MSU employee reported a man exposing himself to her on Sunday outside of the Engineering Building.When the woman walked past the suspect, who was sitting on the steps of the building, she noticed his shorts were pulled down to his hips and he was fondling his erect penis, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.The man waved to the woman and continued to touch himself before he stood up, buttoned his shorts and retrieved his bicycle.The suspect was described as a white man between the ages of 40 and 50, with a light complexion and wearing dark shorts and a white T-shirt, McGlothian-Taylor said.Police are investigating the incident.Two digital cameras, a laptop and a cell phone were stolen from a Bailey Hall dorm room sometime between 4 a.m. and 6 a.m. Saturday.The items, which are valued at $1,340 total, belong to two male roommates who were outside of their room when the incident occurred, McGlothian-Taylor said.The laptop, Fuji and Vivitar digital cameras and Samsung X650 cell phone were taken from the desks of the men by an unknown suspect when the unlocked door was closed.Maggie Lillis
