Police briefs 09/14/06

A 21-year-old woman reported a male "window peeker" looking into her back bedroom window in Spartan Village apartments located on MSU's campus Tuesday. At about 1:30 a.m., the woman heard knocking on the window, but she turned the light out and returned to the living room. When she went to lock the screen door in the room, the man was standing directly in front of the door, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. The man — who is described as a white male in his 40s or 50s, about 5-foot-10, with a medium-build and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and dark pants — immediately fled north when the woman discovered him standing at her door. Police officers checked the area using dogs but were unable to locate the suspect. This spring, the same woman reported a man looking in her window, but police officials believe it is not the same person, McGlothian-Taylor said.Maggie Lillis
