Monday Musings

September 11, 2006

Notre Dame quarterback Brady Quinn bounced back from a poor showing in his first game to throw for 287 yards and three touchdowns in a blowout of Penn State on Saturday.

In a surprise to much of the national media, though, Quinn did not cure cancer or save the rain forest.

Game 5 of the WNBA Finals was scheduled to be played at the Palace of Auburn Hills, but because a Mariah Carey concert was already booked there, it had to be moved to Joe Louis Arena.

Carey hasn't inconvenienced this many people since the release of "Glitter."

Detroit Lions' assistant coach Joe Cullen was arrested recently after allegedly driving drunk and naked, including through a Wendy's drive-through window.

Police said they were tipped off when Cullen asked a Wendy's employee if their Super Value Menu included pants.

The Detroit Tigers lost to Minnesota on Sunday, shrinking their lead in the AL Central to just two games.

Never fear, though — the Lions are only one game out of first.
