For a quick, foolproof way to style your hair, look no further than a childhood favorite … the headband.

While its revival last year was modest — testing the waters in thin, black styles — headbands are back in all patterns, widths and colors. And, they're cheap.

Begin your headband collection with a neutral color, such as black or brown, for everyday wear and add unique bands to match different outfits. A colorful headband can instantly rejuvenate the routine of jeans and a T-shirt.

Headbands can be worn with short or long hair, when hair is down, in a bun, or a ponytail. They're perfect to wear when wet hair is thrown up into a bun during the morning rush.

Forever 21 also sells fashionable, inexpensive headbands. Styles include polka-dotted, plaid and striped patterns. Prices start at $1.80.

Claire's Accessories carries a plethora of the hair accessory's styles, ranging from thick and striped to headbands with bows, faux crocodile prints, jewels and even wavy-shaped headbands. Prices are approximately $3.50 to $7.
