The preliminary examinations for two men charged in an alleged Feb. 23 assault in Hubbard Hall are adjourned until Sept. 8, according to the defense attorney for one of the defendants. The examinations were previously scheduled for Thursday afternoon. Court records do not show the date of the adjournment, but court officials confirmed the examinations would be postponed.A 20-year-old male Louisiana resident reported his wallet taken in an armed robbery between midnight on Monday and 7:45 a.m. Tuesday from Butterfield Hall. But the 20-year-old, who was a participant of the Boy Scouts of America National Order of the Arrow Conference, later recanted the armed robbery claim and said he simply found his wallet missing from his room, MSU police Sgt. Dan Beachnau said. Police aren't sure why he claimed he was the victim of an armed robbery, Beachnau said. The wallet contained about $120 in cash and an identification card, Beachnau said.A 21-year-old female reported her digital camera stolen between July 5 and July 12 from her Spartan Village apartment. The woman, who was preparing to move out, initially noticed the camera missing, but thought it might be mixed in with her other belongings, Beachnau said. Later the woman found her camera was not with any of her other property, he said. The woman and her roommate had a falling out prior and both moved out at the same time, Beachnau said.Lindsey Poisson
