If you're reading this, chances are good you have a college degree, or are pretty close to completing one. So that means you know everything, right? Wrong. Sometimes, there are little things in life we forget how to do, or things that everyone else knows except us. That's what we're here for. The State News presents "How to." How to tie a necktie
1. Place the tie around your neck with the wide end on your right side and the thin end on your left.
2. Make the fat end longer than the thin end. If you're tall, the fat end should be a lot longer than the thin end. If you're short, the fat end should still be longer, but not too much longer than the thin end.
3. Wrap the fat end around the skinny end 360 degrees, so the fat end makes a full circle around the thin end.
4. Bring the fat end up through the hole you just made. When bringing the fat end back down, slide it between the knot and pull.
5. To fit the tie to your collar, hold the knot and the thin end and gently pull to adjust.
6. If these steps are too difficult, invest in clip-on ties.
