A 57-year-old male from Bath reported ethnic intimidation between 2:30 p.m. and 2:35 p.m. Monday at Shaw Lane and Birch Road. A 50-year-old male from Holt was in an argument with the 57-year-old and "called the victim several racial names and threatened him with physical harm," MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. Police were unable to contact the 50-year-old. The case is still under investigation and will be forwarded to the Ingham County prosecutor's office.A 25-year-old male MSU student reportedly passed out between 10:45 a.m. and 10:50 a.m. Monday at the Biomedical and Physical Sciences Building. "The victim was working with acetone and became light-headed and passed out," McGlothian-Taylor said. When the student passed out, he dropped the bottle containing the chemical and a small amount spilled on the floor, she said. The MSU Office of Radiation, Chemical & Biological Safety responded to the scene and determined the air quality in the room was safe, and the chemical was neutralized and removed. The student was transported to Sparrow Hospital and suffered a bump on the back of his head and an abrasion on his right elbow, McGlothian-Taylor said.Lindsey Poisson
