Two male employees, a 23-year-old and a 22-year-old, reported items stolen from their cars between 2 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Wednesday in the auxiliary parking lot across from the University Club. The 23-year-old employee reported the lock on the driver's side of his white 1997 Oldsmobile 88 four-door was damaged, and the window was broken, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. A CD case full of CDs, a portable DVD player, Nautica cologne and another brand of cologne were stolen from the employee's vehicle, she said. The 22-year-old employee reported no damage to his red 2000 Daewoo four-door, but his Motorola Razr flip cell phone was taken. "He left the vehicle unlocked," McGlothian-Taylor said. The property loss was worth about $880 and damage was about $300.A 26-year-old male Lansing resident fled from police and crashed his motorcycle into a pole at about 1:53 a.m. on Thursday on West Michigan Avenue and Friendship Circle. According to a press release from the East Lansing Police Department, the driver was seen driving erratically by a police officer. When the officer attempted to pull him over, the driver accelerated. The motorcyclist then lost control and hit a pole. He sustained serious injuries, but is expected to survive, according to the report. Criminal charges are pending after an investigation.Meridian Township police are still searching for the suspect of a robbery that occurred early Wednesday afternoon at Alf Spartan Insurance Agency, 2660 E. Grand River Ave. The man came into the insurance agency and demanded money from an employee, who complied. The suspect then ran from the business heading north. The suspect is described as a black male in his early 20s, 5-foot-8 with a medium build and facial hair and was last seen wearing a red, black and white jersey, a white baseball cap with the letters "L" and "A" on it and black pants. Meridian Township police Lt. Tom Couling said it is not unusual to see convenience stores robbed, but an insurance agency is "very unusual."Lindsey Poisson
