The fourth annual Capital Area Blues Society Blues Brawl will be held at the Green Door Blues Bar, 2005 E. Michigan Ave., at 3 p.m. May 21 in Lansing.

The event will feature six local bands vying for a chance to compete in the 2007 International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tenn. The winner will also receive $1,000 in cash and prizes from the Capital Area Blues Society and the Old Town Blues Festival.

Bands playing in the Blues Brawl include Stan Budzynski and Third Degree, Frog and the Beeftones with Kathleen Mendoza, the Mark Arshak Band, 6 Hands Down, the Moonshyne Blues Band and Walkin' Stick.

Admission is $5 at the door.
